Psychosexual therapy is for those who have issues with their sex life or sexuality which may be regarding sexual or gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual functioning (e.g. difficulties with desire, arousal, ejaculation/ orgasm, pain or satisfaction), disability or illness. These issues may be caused and maintained by psychological, biological, social or emotional factors. A full assessment is carried out and the therapist will develop, with the client(s), a shared understanding of what factors have contributed to the development and maintenance of the sexual difficulties. This information will highlight areas to focus on in on-going therapy with the possibility of exercises for the client(s) to do at home.
